If you’re new to AI
Feel confident in a few days.
Ask the question you didn’t want to ask on LinkedIn. Someone here’s been exactly where you are last month, and they’ll walk you through it without making you feel small.
A safe place off the social media feed where we can learn and build alongside agencies, apps and each other.
$39 / month. 30-day money-back guarantee. Cohort 3 starts July 16.
Who it’s for
Solo bookkeepers and Big-Four partners. Payroll, ops, admin, managers. Automation agencies, indie devs, and the product teams at Claude, Xero, QuickBooks, and the project management tools you use. Whole firms, too. Nobody gets siloed by title here.
If you’re new to AI
Ask the question you didn’t want to ask on LinkedIn. Someone here’s been exactly where you are last month, and they’ll walk you through it without making you feel small.
If you’re building
Share a draft workflow before it’s polished. Get unstuck because someone’s already solved the weird edge case. Move faster because you’re not building in a vacuum.
If you’re deep in it
The fastest way to sharpen your own thinking is to unstick someone else. Swap Claude Code tricks, agent architectures, and production-edge stories with practitioners who live here.

What you get
Bring what you saw on LinkedIn this week. Leave with how to actually build it. Length and topics shift with demand. Every session recorded.
This week’s scheduleStructured programs you move through with the room. Next up, Cohort 3: build a real client-intake tool in Claude Code and Lovable, side by side. Included with membership.
Cohort 3 syllabusAccountants, automation agencies, and the product teams behind the tools. Post to share or ask for help.
Who’s in the roomCohort 3
Cohort 2 gave your firm agentic workflows. This one goes further: we build and deploy one real tool for your firm, live.
Bring your own idea, or just follow along with ours.
Week one · Build
Thu, July 16, 2026 · 11:00am PT / 2:00pm ET
First you’ll see three different ways to build an app, side by side: Claude Code, Lovable, and a live artifact. This way you see which tool you feel most comfortable building your own tool in.
Deliverable · A working app you built, running, in the first session
Week two · Connect
Thu, July 23, 2026 · 11:00am PT / 2:00pm ET
Your tool starts talking to real data, and you learn to keep a secret the right way, tucked safely out of sight. Same idea in both tools, so the habit sticks no matter what you build later.
Deliverable · Your app showing real (sandbox) data
Week three · Protect
Fri, July 31, 2026 · 9:30am PT / 12:30pm ET
A heads-down building week, and your full introduction to GitHub. You keep building your tool while learning to commit and back up every change as you go, so your work is always safe and you can always step back to an earlier version. Build a little, save it, keep going.
Deliverable · More of your tool built, with a clean commit history on GitHub
Week four · Deploy
Thu, Aug 6, 2026 · 11:00am PT / 2:00pm ET
Deploy your app to a real URL and control access. Claude Code to Vercel, Lovable to Supabase. Then the connect-to-anything lesson: integrate cleanly when a system has an API (Anchor), and reach for an MCP when it doesn’t (Ignition).
Deliverable · A live, secured app at a real URL
Week five · Demo Day
Thu, Aug 13, 2026 · 11:00am PT / 2:00pm ET
Demo what you made and vote for the winners. Honestly, the best part runs the other way: watching what everyone else built. Every screen share is a new idea you can borrow for your own firm, and it makes for one of the best days of the month.
Deliverable · Your live demo
Tools you’ll use: Claude Code, Lovable, live artifacts, Codex, GitHub, Vercel, Supabase, and other small skills/tools.
Before you ask
Five sessions, July 16 to August 13, 2026. Kickoff is Thursday, July 16 at 11am PT / 2pm ET, and four of the five sessions are Thursdays at that time. The one exception is Week 3 (Protect) on Friday, July 31 at 9:30am PT / 12:30pm ET. Every session is recorded, so joining mid-cohort works fine too.
No. Every session teaches the same build in both, so you can follow whichever fits you. Prefer to stay no-code? Lovable has you covered. Want to own the codebase? Use Claude Code. Seeing the same idea two ways is the whole point: it’s the judgment that carries over to whatever tool comes next. You’ll get the most from a paid Claude plan (minimum Pro), but you won’t be stuck without it.
Never. Every demo runs on sandbox data and a fake prospect. You build the exact same tool you’d use in your firm, without touching a real client’s information.
Yes. Cohort 3 doesn’t “close” enrollment. You can join any time, you’ll get the live sessions going forward, and every past week is already in the archive to catch up on. You can still build alongside the room in future sessions and share what you’re building along the way, even if you show up late.
Fully recorded and transcribed. Cohort 1 built your first AI agent. Cohort 2 built agentic workflows for a real (fictional) firm, Northside CPA. Both live in the archive, so you can run either on your own schedule. The FAQ below has the full Cohort 2 syllabus.
Yes. Firm plans cover everyone in your firm up to the number of seats you purchase, with seat counts that swap month to month. See firm pricing →

Member wins
Every member’s in for different reasons. Here are a few wins.
“I’m a lurker, I want to learn it all, but there’s always a but. I’m so busy; after tax season, my whole life is ‘later.’ The other day I randomly jumped on a live tutorial and was blown away with the helpfulness. My advice, jump in, it wasn’t scary.”
“I went from using ChatGPT to draft emails to building 30+ production apps running inside my firm, and my whole team leveled up along the way. Ridiculous value, ridiculous support, zero reason not to join.”
“The community has been so welcoming, nonjudgmental and unbelievably helpful as I launched my journey to learn and navigate these incredible new tools. AI and automations can be intimidating to the non-techies like me and this community provides an environment to learn at whatever level and pace you are at.”
“I would like to personally thank you for putting on the Claude cohort, I am learning so much. We’re currently working with Isaac to fast-track some automations, but can’t wait to try myself now. Really keen to build connections between Xero and BuildXact as we look after a lot of builders. My friend Amanda also just joined the group after I was raving about it.”
Every tool you use
A lot of the tools have representatives in the community helping move everyone forward.
Who runs this
Chad co-founded LiveCA in 2013, one of Canada’s first fully virtual CPA firms. Still running the firm today with around sixty people.
He posts daily on LinkedIn about AI and accounting, spent seven years living in an RV with his family across North America, and now works from Spain.
What I love about AutomationTown is it’s a room full of people using completely different tools, all rooting for each other, with no agenda other than to prop up the profession.
Questions people ask
A paid Circle community for accountants who want to build with AI and automation. We’ve been running since August 2024 with 530+ members. The room is open to everyone who does the work in a firm (not just firm owners): bookkeepers, payroll specialists, ops and admin staff, senior accountants, managers, firm owners, accounting students, AND the product teams from the tools you use. If your work touches an accounting firm, you’re in the right place.
Yes, and it’s easier than you think. Most members aren’t technical when they show up. The room moves at the pace of someone who opened Claude for the first time last week, not at developer pace. You bring a workflow you’d like to make easier, and the community walks the rest of the way with you.
Not a chance. Plenty of members finish builds without writing a line of code. But if you’re on the nerdier side of this stuff, I think you’ll find your people here.
Whatever works for your stack. Members build with Claude (Code, Cowork, Projects, Skills), ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, QuickBooks, Xero, your project management system, Make, n8n, Power Automate, Zapier, and direct APIs. We’re not tied to any single vendor.
YES! They weren’t for the longest time, and then I realized that having them here is the secret sauce that makes this work. Need a new tool added to the Double MCP? The CEO Ben interacts with us and is involved in the conversation. I love having the vendors here to help support everyone. They’ll also NEVER pitch you.
Yeah, min Pro, Team ideally.
Included. Comparable cohorts elsewhere run between $149 and $450 as a separate purchase. Here it comes with the regular monthly membership.
A real client intake tool for your firm: it takes form details from a website, gathers company info, sets up jobs in your project management system, prices the work, and produces a custom-designed proposal on screen. You build it live over five weeks (July 16 to August 13, 2026), in Claude Code and Lovable side by side, so you learn the ideas rather than one vendor’s buttons. Along the way: connecting to systems with an API (like Anchor) and working around ones without (like Ignition, through an MCP connector), backing up with version control, an adversarial code review from Codex, and a real deployment to Vercel or Supabase. Every demo runs on sandbox data and a fake prospect, never real client data. It closes with a demo day and a vote for the winners.
Cohort 2 ran May 6 to June 10, 2026: five weeks building a Claude agent for your firm, anchored on Northside CPA, a fictional 12-person cloud firm.
It wrapped with a demo day where members showed what they built, from daily email digests to full internal apps, and voted for the winners. Every session is recorded, transcribed, and searchable, so you can run the whole cohort on your own schedule.
Nah. Every live session is recorded and posted right after it ends. Transcripts go up for the bigger sessions so you can run them through your own AI. Members who only watch recordings still build stuff and contribute to discussions async.
Most sessions land at 3pm ET or earlier, which is evening in the UK and EU and next-morning watching for Australia. Circle is open all the time. A meaningful share of members are outside the US and Canada, so you won’t be the only one.
Yes. Every live session, every cohort session, and every guest presentation is recorded the same day, transcribed, timestamped, and searchable. The library has been growing since Aug 2024. That includes all five Cohort 3 sessions, so nothing is lost if you can’t make one live.
No. Product team members are members like everyone else. They’re in the room to help and to learn, not to sell. I didn’t let them in for the longest time, but having them here has been so helpful and gives people who normally don’t have that level of access a voice directly to the apps they love and use every day. Plus, a little friendly talk about competitors helps move things along :)
A lot of automation agencies are already inside the community and take on professional work for members. We’re also launching a Certified Builders directory soon, where you’ll be able to browse and contact vetted builders directly. In the meantime, post what you need and someone usually offers to help. A lot of members have worked with agencies that provide help here, and that’s one of the biggest benefits of the community.
You get a Circle account, an intro post template to introduce yourself, the next live session on the calendar, and access to the full recorded library on day one. If a cohort is running, you can join it from your first day.
